We kicked off our fundraising campaign with a new event last week. We hosted a Family Fun Night at our favorite BBQ, Smiley Guys Smokehouse in Grass Valley. We had a good time with the games, a silent auction, and of course great food. What more do you need? An appearance of Queen Dorlis in all her splendor! We were able to raise $400 in one night.
That's a good start. But we need to raise $1800 each. That's $3600! That's a lot of money! The hardest part of doing these walks is not the actual walk. It is the fundraising. We realized that you probably don't like being asked for money any more than we like asking. But the need is so great. The money raised in this walk goes right back into the community, as well as to research.
