Looking for a fun and worthwhile activity the whole family
can enjoy? Then check out the Hike to
End Breast Cancer on Sunday May 31 in Chicago Park. This charity event will include a variety of
activities beginning at 1pm at Elegant Salvage, 16282 Mt Olive Road near the
corner of Colfax Hwy.
A 3.9 mile fun hike starts at 2pm along the historic Narrow
Gauge Trail. This will be followed by a
trail run at 2:45, with great prizes in men, women, and youth runner categories. Hikers and runners can preregister on the event page, or register at the event starting at 1pm.
You don’t have to be a runner to win one of the fantastic
prizes. There will be a competition for
the best pink outfits, as well! Hikers
and runners alike are encouraged to put their best pink-clad foot forward, and
prizes will be awarded to the best dressed individual and group.
You won’t want to miss the raffle! Dozens of local businesses have donated
amazing prizes, including Rhythms Fitness Studio, Olive Vitality, Briar Patch, Yuba
Blue, Hair’s to You salon, Lucchesi Winery, S.O.A.P., and so many more! Raffle tickets are only $1 in advance, and
you don’t have to be present to win, so don’t let this opportunity pass you by!
In addition to the hike and run, a craft fair and bake sale
will be held outside of Elegant Salvage from 1 to 4pm. It will feature a variety of locally made
items, from unique teapot lamps to natural health products, and of course lots
of delicious pink treats!
Proceeds from the Hike will help The Itty Bitty Titty Committee
meet our fundraising goals for the Avon39, which provides mammograms to women
in need, funds research for a cure, and supports other breast cancer awareness
programs.
